Kubuntu Jaunty Alpha 2 Available

KDE 4.2 Beta 2

KDE 4.2 Beta 2 has been released and packages are available for Kubuntu 8.10 "Intrepid" and 9.04 "Jaunty". Read more for details.

Amarok 2.0 released

Two years in the making, the future of computer-managed music is here! KDE 4.2 Beta 1 released

KDE 4.2 Beta 1 has been released and packages are available for Kubuntu 8.10, the Intrepid Ibex. Through unexpected hospital visits and endless waves of turkey & other merriments, the Kubuntu packaging ninjas always prevail. (Even if they are a week and a half late) These packages install to their normal locations and will upgrade your current KDE 4.1.x installation.

Amarok 2 Release Candidate 1

Amarok 2 release candidate 1 has been released and packages are available for Kubuntu 8.10, the Intrepid Ibex. These packages replace existing Amarok 1.4.10 installations.

KOffice 2 Beta 3 Out

KOffice 2 Beta 3 has been released. Packages are available for Kubuntu Intrepid in the intrepid-backports archive.

KDE 4.1.3

The latest KDE 4 update 4.1.3 has moved to the backports section of Kubuntu 8.10.

To install it enable Unsupported Updates in Adept, then under Changes click on Upgrade and Apply.

Amarok 2 beta 3 released

Amarok 2 beta 3 has been released and packages are available for Kubuntu 8.10, the Intrepid Ibex. These packages replace existing Amarok 1.4.10 installs.

Kubuntu 8.10 Refreshes the Desktop

Today sees the release of Kubuntu 8.10 featuring the KDE 4 desktop. The Kubuntu developers have been hard at work, bringing you the latest and greatest software the open source community has to offer. KDE 4 reworks your system with a major new revision of the desktop.

This Intrepid release lives up to its name by including many changes, but there are some features that are not yet available in KDE 4. If you would rather stay with what you know then remember that Kubuntu 8.04 is still fully supported, see KDE3-KDE4Migration and Is KDE 4.1 for you? for more information on deciding. You can try it first with the Kubuntu Intrepid Live CD to see for yourself whether or not it really is "for you".


Kubuntu 8.10 Release Candidate

The release candidate for Kubuntu 8.10 is now available for one last round of testing before the final release next week.
