Amarok 2 Beta 2 Released

Amarok 2 beta 2 has been released and packages are available for Kubuntu 8.04,
the Hardy Heron. These packages install to /usr/lib/kde4 and can be
installed along side your existing Amarok 1.4 installation. Packages for the development version Kubuntu 8.10, the Intrepid Ibex, are available as well.

Instructions

The packages for Kubuntu 8.04 and 8.10 are located in the Kubuntu Member’s KDE 4 Personal Package Archive (PPA) repositories. To update to Amarok 2 beta 2, please follow these instructions:

  1. Follow the Kubuntu Repository Guide to enable Recommended Updates (backports) and add the following to your ‘Third-Party Software’ tab:
    deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-members-kde4/ubuntu hardy main

    or the following if you are already using Kubuntu 8.10:

    deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-members-kde4/ubuntu intrepid main
  2. You can now update an existing Amarok 2 installation to the most recent version using the Adept Updater tool in your system tray.
    Please follow the Adept How to and install the package called “amarok-kde4”, if you are still running Amarok 1.4 and want to install Amarok 2 along the current stable version,
