New Amarok Beta

Top music player Amarok has a new beta release out for testing.

This is beta software so expect bugs. Bugs in packaging should be reported to kubuntu-ppa on Launchpad. Bugs in the software to KDE.

Users of 10.04 LTS or Maverick can install it from the Kubuntu Beta PPA.

Amarok 2.3.1 Released

Amarok 2.3.1 has been released. Users of the upcoming Kubuntu Maverick release can install it from the official Kubuntu repositories.

Users of recent releases can install it from the Kubuntu Backports PPA by reading the Software Repository Guide and adding the following repository to your software sources list: ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports

Amarok, KOffice, KDevelop Beta Packages Updates

Several applications have made beta releases and packages are available for Kubuntu for anyone wanting to test and give feedback to their developers.

Amarok 2.3.1 Beta is available for Kubuntu 9.10 while Amarok, KOffice 2.2 Beta and KDevelop 3.10.2 are available for Kubuntu 10.04.

To update, use the Software Repository Guide to add the following repository to your software sources list:
ppa:kubuntu-ppa/beta

Amarok 2.3.0 is out.

Users of our latest development release, Lucid, can get packages from our Experimental PPA.

Amarok 2.2.2 Rocks the Desktop

Amarok 2.2.2 has been released to make your desktop rock.

Users of the Lucid development release are advised not to upgrade yet, as the packages are only half-built due to a breakage of the underlying graphics stack. The Ubuntu Xorg team is working fervently to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

Users of our stable 9.10 release can install it from the Kubuntu Backports PPA.

Christmas Bonus: KDE SC, Amarok, KDevelop Betas

The second beta of KDE SC 4.4 has packages available in our Beta PPA. There are also betas of Amarok and KDevelop available.

Users of our latest development release, Lucid, can upgrade to the latest packages.

Users of our stable 9.10 release can install it from the Kubuntu Beta PPA.

Then do sudo apt-get update then sudo apt-get dist-upgrade and sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop.

Amarok 2.2.1 has been released.

Users of our latest development release, Lucid, can upgrade to the latest packages.

Users of our stable 9.10 release can install it from the Kubuntu Updates PPA.

Amarok 2.1 Rocks the World

Music playing application Amarok has rocked the world with their 2.1 release.


Packages are available for Kubuntu. Users of the Karmic development release can upgrade their Amarok packages. Users of our stable 9.04 release can install it from the Kubuntu Backports PPA.

Amarok 2.0.1.1 Released

The first update to the 2.0 series of Amarok has arrived. This release brings with it several new features and small enhancements, including queuing, playlist search and filtering as well as "stop after current track" functionality.
