The Kubuntu team is proud to introduce our latest release: 10.04 LTS, the Lucid Lynx!
This is our first Long Term Support release featuring the KDE Plasma Desktop.
Our selection of tools and applications will provide you with all that you need for most of your tasks, with many more available just a few clicks away. Whether browsing the web, playing your music, composing an email or connecting with your friends on social networks, Kubuntu 10.04 LTS brings you a stable, innovative and attractive platform for all your desktop needs!
Kubuntu 8.04.2 Released
The Kubuntu team is proud to announce the release of Kubuntu 8.04.2, the
second and final maintenance update to Kubuntu's 8.04 release. This release
includes updated desktop, and alternate installation CDs for the i386 and
amd64 architectures. This update is provided in recognition that the current
Kubuntu release (8.10) with its cutting edge KDE 4 desktop is not yet
appropriate for all users.
In all, over 200 updates have been integrated, and updated installation
media has been provided so that fewer updates will need to be downloaded
after installation. These include security updates, and corrections for
other high-impact bugs, with a focus on maintaining stability and
compatibility with Kubuntu 8.04.

April 24, 2008 - Kubuntu 8.04 has been released and is available for
download now.
Kubuntu 8.04 stepped over the barriers of gutsiness and took on a whole new
feat by providing this latest release with double vision. Improved desktops,
updated applications, increased usability features, and a new future are
just a few of the surprises with this latest release. Improved desktops?
Double vision? Yes! Kubuntu 8.04 now provides you the ability to use either
one of two desktop environments, or both if you shall choose. If stability
is the feather in the cap you are looking for, then look no further than
Kubuntu 8.04 featuring the KDE 3 desktop environment. If you are looking for
a bit of an edge, Kubuntu has you covered with the new Kubuntu 8.04 KDE 4
Remix. This time around the development team jumped over hurdles, bent
backwards, and did all kinds of flips for a non-Olympic event in order to
bring you this latest release. So it is with our pleasure that we introduce
you to the new Kubuntu 8.04 and we hope you enjoy your ride aboard the Hardy
Heron.
