Canonical Sponsoring Akademy

Canonical is very pround to announce it is sponsoring Akademy again. Canonical is the founder and principle commercial supporter of the Ubuntu project, including Kubuntu. Akademy is the annual conference of KDE's developers and contributors. By supporting Akademy we are allowing KDE to meet up, give talks, hack on code and discuss their plans for another year. Kubuntu Tutorial Days

Kubuntu Tutorials Day is back, and this time it's with special guest star speakers.

KDE SC 4.5 Beta 2 Packages Available

For those wanting the latest crack-of-the-week, packages for the release of the KDE Software Compilation 4.5 Beta 2 are available.

This is beta software so expect bugs. Bugs in packaging should be reported to kubuntu-ppa on Launchpad. Bugs in the software to KDE.

Users of 10.04 LTS can install it from the Kubuntu Beta PPA.

Maverick Alpha 1 Released

The first alpha release of Kubuntu Maverick has been released. This alpha contains the recently announced Amarok 2.3.1 and KDE SC 4.5 beta.

KDE SC 4.4.4 Packages Available

Packages for the release of the KDE Software Compilation 4.4.4 are available.

Users of 10.04 LTS can install it from the Kubuntu Updates PPA.

To update, use the Software Repository Guide to add the following repository to your software sources list:
ppa:kubuntu-ppa/ppa

Amarok 2.3.1 Released

Amarok 2.3.1 has been released. Users of the upcoming Kubuntu Maverick release can install it from the official Kubuntu repositories.

Users of recent releases can install it from the Kubuntu Backports PPA by reading the Software Repository Guide and adding the following repository to your software sources list: ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports

KOffice 2.2 Out

KOffice 2.2 is out. Users of Kubuntu 10.04 can install it from lucid-backport, just enable "Unsupported Updates" in your software source settings and install "koffice".

Qt 4.7 Beta for Testers

If you want to try out Qt 4.7 and the interesting new world of Qt Quick ("from now on the way to make GUIs"), Kubuntu 10.04 users can try it from the experimental PPA. The Qt Creator packages there have Qt Quick designer integration.

KDevelop 4 Out Now

KDevelop 4 is now available in lucid-backports for users of the newly released 10.04 LTS.

Enable "Unsupported Updates" in your software repositories and install "kdevelop".
