Amarok 2.1 Rocks the World

Music playing application Amarok has rocked the world with their 2.1 release.


Packages are available for Kubuntu. Users of the Karmic development release can upgrade their Amarok packages. Users of our stable 9.04 release can install it from the Kubuntu Backports PPA.

KDE 4.2.4 Updates for Kubuntu 9.04

A new bugfix KDE release is available to update Kubuntu 9.04.

Add this repository and do a full upgrade:

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/ppa/ubuntu jaunty main

KOffice 2 Launched

KOffice 2 has been released and packages are available for Kubuntu.

Users of our development release, Karmic, can install koffice-kde4.

If you are using the current 9.04 release add the backports Unsupported updates repository and install koffice-kde4.

KDE 4.3 Beta 1 now available

KDE 4.3 Beta 1 is now available in the Kubuntu Karmic repositories.

Packages for Jaunty are available in the Kubuntu Experimental repository. To install these, add this line to your software sources.

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/experimental/ubuntu jaunty main

Then refresh and do a full upgrade.

First Karmic Alpha Available

The first alpha CD for our next release is now available. This is at a very early stage of development so is advised for brave testers only. See the overview from Ubuntu, the announcement or just go straight to the CD download.

KDE 4.2.3 has been released and packages are available for Kubuntu 9.04.

To install it add this line to your software sources.

Upgrading from 8.10

Users of 8.10 (Intrepid) will be prompted to upgrade. For more information see the Kubuntu 8.10 upgrade instructions.

Upgrading from 8.04

Users of 8.04 (Hardy) can upgrade through Adept Manager. For more information see the Kubuntu 8.04 upgrade instructions.

NOTE: This will upgrade your system from KDE 3 to KDE 4.
