Kubuntu 10.04 LTS Beta 1 Available for Testing

Kubuntu 10.04 LTS Beta 1 is out for testers. 10.04 will be the first LTS to feature version 4 of the KDE Software Compilation, so we need lots of eyeballs to find the remaining bugs. Find out what is new on our Beta 1 overview page or jump straight to the download or 9.10 upgrade pages.

Amarok 2.3.0 Rocks Your Music

Amarok 2.3.0 is out.

Users of our stable 9.10 release (karmic) can get packages from our Backports PPA. This will also install KDE 4.4.1. To update, follow the Software Repository Guide to add the following repository to your software sources list: ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports then install or upgrade amarok

Users of our latest development release, Lucid, can get packages from our Experimental PPA.

KDevelop 4 Beta 9 Released

KDevelop 4 Beta 9 is out. Users of our latest development release, Lucid, can get packages from our Beta PPA. To update, use the Software Repository Guide to add the following repository to your software sources list: ppa:kubuntu-ppa/beta then install kdevelop

KDE SC 4.4.1 Packages Available

Packages for the release of the KDE Software Compilation 4.4.1 are available. Users of the Lucid development release can upgrade to the newest packages. Users of our stable 9.10 release can install it from the Kubuntu Backports PPA. Lucid Alpha 3 Released

The third alpha release of Kubuntu Lucid has been released. KDE, Amarok and much more have received upgrades in this version. See our release page for where to get it, new features and notable problems.

KDE SC 4.4 Packages Available

Packages for the final release of the KDE Software Compilation 4.4 are available. Users of the Lucid development release can upgrade to the newest packages. Users of our stable 9.10 release can install it from the Kubuntu Backports PPA. If you have used Virtuoso 5.0.12 you should consider installing the "virtuosoconverter" package which will convert your existing Virtuoso data to the new format.

KDE Software Compilation 4.3.5 in Backports

KDE SC 4.3.5 is now in karmic-backports. The Backports repository is not enabled by default, so you may need to enable it in KPackageKit. Instructions for this are found on the help wiki. To manually enable it, edit your /etc/apt/sources.list and uncomment the line deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ karmic-backports main restricted universe multiverse. When upgrading from 4.3.2 to 4.3.4, some package recommendations have changed, so using dist-upgrade (or full-upgrade in aptitude) may be needed.

KDE SC 4.4 Release Candidate 2 packages available

Packages for the second release candidate of the KDE Software Compilation 4.4 are available.

Users of the Lucid development release can upgrade to the newest packages.

Users of our stable 9.10 release can install it from the Kubuntu Beta PPA.
